2. Data We Collect

• Account data: email address, display name, profile photo (optional), account type, and registration date.
• User-generated content: spots you add (location, photos, description, amenity details), reviews, ratings, check-ins, and upvotes/downvotes.
• Location data: GPS coordinates when you use the map or add a spot. We do not store your location history.
• Device data: device type and operating system version, collected automatically by Firebase.
• Usage data: app interactions, crash reports, and performance data collected via Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics.

3. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

• Contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b)): to provide the App and its core features.
• Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): to improve the App, prevent abuse, and moderate content.
• Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): for Firebase Analytics. You may withdraw consent at any time.

4. How We Use Your Data

• To operate and improve the App and its features.
• To display user-generated content to other users.
• To moderate content and enforce our Terms of Service.
• To respond to support requests.
• To analyse app usage and fix bugs.

5. Firebase and Google

CamperPlaces is built on Google Firebase. Services used include: Firestore (database), Firebase Authentication, Firebase Storage (photos), Firebase Analytics, and Firebase Crashlytics. Firebase stores data on Google's servers, primarily located in the United States. Data transfers to the US are covered by Google's Standard Contractual Clauses in accordance with Art. 46 GDPR. 6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only in the following circumstances:

• With Google/Firebase as our technical infrastructure provider (see Section 5).
• If required by law, court order, or competent authority.
• To protect the rights, property, or safety of CamperPlaces, its users, or others.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated personal data will be deleted within 30 days. Anonymised usage statistics may be retained longer.

8. Your Rights (GDPR)

• Right of access (Art. 15): request a copy of your personal data.
• Right to rectification (Art. 16): correct inaccurate data.
• Right to erasure (Art. 17): delete your account directly in the App.
• Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18).
• Right to data portability (Art. 20).
• Right to object (Art. 21).
• Right to withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.

9. Children

The App is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

10. Analytics and Tracking

Firebase Analytics is only activated after you provide consent. You can withdraw consent at any time in the App settings. We do not use third-party advertising networks.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the App or email. The updated policy will be available at www.camperplaces.org/privacy.
